Understanding the Share Market: A Practical Learning Experience for Students

Diorama Eduversity conducted a Basics of Share Market activity on 14th August 2026 to introduce students to the fundamentals of investing, securities and financial decision making.

What Did Students Learn About the Share Market?

The session began with an interactive discussion around a simple question: what is the share market and why do companies raise money from the public?

Students explored how companies issue shares and how investors buy and sell them. They also discussed why share prices change based on factors such as demand, supply, company performance, market conditions and investor expectations.

The session covered several important concepts, including:

Instead of keeping the discussion purely theoretical, students were introduced to these concepts through examples and practical situations.
